Install the Windows companion

Install and pair the companion app on the machine that needs help.

The companion is a visible desktop app that runs on the machine you want your agent to operate. It never runs hidden — an active session and the operator's identity are always shown.

Install

  • Download the Windows companion installer from your dashboard.
  • Run the installer (NSIS) and launch the TaskHatch companion.
  • The companion advertises itself for LAN pairing and shows a pairing panel.

Pair with a controller

  1. On the controller machine, start a session: taskhatch session start.
  2. The controller shows a pairing code and URL.
  3. Enter the code in the companion, or accept the discovery prompt on the same network.
  4. Approve the session on the companion. You'll see the operator identity and an active-session banner.
Privileged actions (admin terminal, protected file paths) trigger a separate, visible elevation approval on the companion.
