LAN sessions vs relay sessions

TaskHatch is LAN-first. When the controller and companion are on the same network, they pair and communicate directly — no internet required after install.

When the relay is used

If the machines are on different networks, or a hosted operator needs to reach a companion, TaskHatch requests a short-lived, signed relay credential from your workspace and brokers the session through the relay.

• Relay minutes are metered against your plan.
• The relay stores only session metadata — never action payloads or media.
• Credentials expire in minutes and are scoped to one session and role.
